Ah. . . Well. . What do I say?
It all started with that Kony 2012 post. While I was posting it, I knew I shouldn't post it because I never post about things like that on my blog. But I put it up anyway and found out that there was some shady stuff about the Invisible Children Organization. And then I think I heard something on the news about it too. I decided that I would take the post down and put a quick comment about why in my next post, but I kept putting it off.
And it was cause I was embarrassed. 'Oh no! I posted something wrong! I'm going to have to delete it!' And so I kept putting it off and kept procrastinating and the longer I was away the less I wanted to post anything. I wanted to put it in the back of my mind and never think about it again.
But I still wanted to blog. And so finally, today, I'm doing what should've done months ago.
To everyone who read my blog I apologize for just leaving you hanging without a word. If I ever find myself away from the blog for too long I'll leave a note next time.
For now, I think I'll start blogging again, probably next week though. And I won't be posting about things like Kony again unless I really know what I'm talking about.

Unfinished Bissuness and a Blog Award
Wow, it's been awhile. Um, I could come up with with a lot of excuses but what happened was I lost internet and therefore lost inspiration to write and then lost the inspiration to blog and then I procrastinated longer and longer even after I got internet back and therefore was more reluctant to post. So there wasn't really a reason at all. But here I am now.
It's times like this that I think that I perhaps shouldn't blog. I can't seem to keep up with it even though my life isn't really busy or anything. I do enjoy blogging but I hit these. . . blocks, where I don't blog for awhile.
But enough of that. I think I should feel you guys in about the end of Nano.
About halfway through the month, pretty much right after my last post, I changed internet providers and with the new provider my laptop, for some reason, could not get the internet. But the internet was supposed to be better and cheaper so I though I could just live with using my desktop. I was wrong. My writing inspiration went down the drain, I kept pushing off writing because I had already written way over the current goal.
Long story short I waited until the last three days to start writing again. I wrote twenty thousand words in those three days. It was hard, it was painful but I was not eager to let this be my first year to miss the goal. And I just knew I wouldn't let myself live it down if I didn't get after writing twice that last year. I won by a hair, 50,020.
I'm so happy I won! I'm so happy that I didn't give up in the end. I'm happy and satisfied with what I accomplished. :)
And another thing, long overdue. I've been given an award! I was given the same award by two people back in August (I know, I'm horrible *cowers*). Given to me by Sarah McCabe and Claudie A. (now at The Novel Experiment).
Sarah said: Taylor Roseberry has the most beautiful header and a great blog. I find myself just gazing at that header though. And Claudie A. said: I met Taylor during last NaNoWriMo. I can't recall how, but I know we ended up pushing the last days together. A bond was formed, and it so happens she has a great blog with a super shiny header. Sarah tagged her for this already, but she hasn't answered. So there. You have no choice.
Yes, talk about guilt. I soo should've posted this award before now. I totally slacked on my blogging and currently feel way undeserving of the award and all the wonderful things they had to say about me and the blog. But I'll try to get back on track.
Anyway, it is the Liebster Blog award!

The goal of the award is to spotlight up and coming bloggers who currently have less than 200 followers.
The rules are:
1. Thank the giver and link back to the blogger who gave it to you.
2. Reveal your top 5 picks and let them know by leaving a comment on their blog.
3. Copy and paste the award on your blog.
4. Have faith that your followers will spread the love to other bloggers.
5. And most of all - have bloggity-blog fun!
S.B. Stewart-Laing at Writing the Other. Stewart has TONS of useful information and tips and advice on things you probably haven't ever thought about but probably should.
Larkindale at Fiction and Film. Her posts are amusing and interesting :)
Nicole at Write me a World. Her blog is interesting and awesome :D
Angeline Trevena. She's got a good blog! :)
Miss Cole at Miss Cole Seeks Publisher. Love her blog :)
Awesome blogs everyone! Thanks for the award Claudie and Sarah and I hope to get back into the groove of things!
Hope to be back on the blog soon!

I Need a Map
I'm having trouble properly writing the Chronicles and I know what the problem is.
I need a map.
Some of you might remember the map I posted a while back, declaring that it was the map for the Chronicles. Yeah. Not so much. As the story changed so did the idea of what the world looked like and so that entitled a new map. So I started on another one but wasn't satisfied with it and so I fiddled around with another one. But no. I can't find the right place.
Perhaps it's because nothing is truly matching the world I have in mind. It just isn't it you know? But I honestly don't think I'll be able to find anything that will match up and I'm just going to have to stick with one. It probably seems like I should just not do a map at all at this point but with a map, it could easily supply tons of information just by being there. Once I decide the place where my MC lives I could instantly know what the climate is like, if it's near a mountain, next to a river. . . And I can have a head start on what the places and people will be like in any other city because I'll know the surroundings.
So. . . I need a map. Call it procrastination or whatever but I call it planning and world building. The only problem will be finding the map. . .
Oh! I'd like to say yay! for Tahereh getting a book deal! That's totally awesome and I can't wait for it to come out!
And with the earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan, I'd just like to say I pray that they recover from it, and for all those who lost friends and family due to the disaster. And I hope that the nuclear power plant gets under control soon, and that those who are trying to do just that will be safe as possible.
I need a map.

I am DROWNING
Well, I have to say I thought I would've been ready to start writing by the beginning of this month but I'm not. And while I would like to say this sorta sucks, well. . . it kinda doesn't. Because were I to start writing now the resulting story wouldn't nearly be what I wanted it to be.
I mean, I did plan. Really, I did. Maybe not as much as I was supposed to but I had a beginning to end plan on paper. At first I was happy. But then I looked at it, really looked at it and thought, "This is not the story I was supposed to tell." And that was a bad realization because what I had written down wasn't better than the way I see it in my mind, in fact I think it was way worse.
I wonder how that might have happened and I think it was because the planning was done too quick and was too forced. Yet on the other hand I didn't spend nearly enough time planning which I believe was largely the reason for this result. So, I am giving myself this rest of this month to do some serious planning.
I think the hardest part of all this is not knowing where to start. I know I need to create the back stories of all my major characters at least, and that I need to plan out the plot and the character arc of this book, and figure out exactly who my characters are down to their bare instincts, and the world itself needs to be figured out still. Does this story take place in a hot place? A cold place? What is the society and culture like there? What sort of things might be ingrained in my character from growing up in such place? And then there's the magic system, or lack thereof. And it's just a bit overwhelming. How do I plan this out? Do I start small and then go big? Do I start with what I know and then ponder the things I don't or do I figure out what I don't know first? And just which part of this whole mess do I start with first?
It's all just burying me alive and I feel very small and useless.
But I know I'll get through this mess. Somehow. I think I might start with some back stories and some magic structure. I've been working on the cultures some, but still not enough. For this whole month I've got to focus on nothing other than planning this thing so I can write it. Even if I don't have much of a clue where to start.
How many of you feel this way sometimes?
